LuskinOIC Center for Cerebral Palsy Summer Camp Brings Together Campers, Clinicians, and Community Partners

This summer, the LuskinOIC Center for Cerebral Palsy welcomed 20 campers and their families for another successful week of adaptive recreation, community building, and hands-on learning. The camp was supported by an incredible team of more than 60 volunteers from medical, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other clinical training programs across Southern California, creating meaningful opportunities for future healthcare professionals to learn directly from children and families living with cerebral palsy.

Campers enjoyed a memorable week filled with adaptive sports, recreation, and community experiences made possible through the support of outstanding partners. Special thanks to Angel City Sports, SoCal Trykers, Mobility Dogs, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and USTA Southern California for helping create engaging, inclusive experiences that brought joy, confidence, and connection to campers throughout the week.

The success of camp would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of the LuskinOIC Rehabilitation Department, including Chris Caron, DPT, Sera Cho, and the entire rehabilitation team, whose expertise and commitment helped ensure a safe, welcoming, and impactful experience for every participant.

We are also grateful to the Office of County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell for its continued support of programs that expand opportunities, inclusion, and community participation for children with disabilities and their families.

As the Center for Cerebral Palsy continues to grow its impact, programs like Summer Camp demonstrate the power of bringing together healthcare professionals, students, community organizations, and families to create opportunities for children with disabilities to thrive.
