International Children’s Program

LuskinOIC founded the International Children’s Program (ICP) for one vital reason: to enable children living outside the U.S. to receive high-quality orthopaedic care, regardless of their family’s financial situation. For more than 60 years, more than 150,000 children from various countries around the world have been expertly treated by board-certified surgeons through ICP.

LuskinOIC remains passionately committed to this 60-year-old cause. With our donors and volunteers, we continue to transform the lives of children, affording them a chance to reach unbridled potential.

Together, we can change a child’s life

The conditions we treat include cerebral palsy, scoliosis, congenital hip disorders, missing or deformed bones, clubfoot, congenital hand disorders and limb length discrepancy. With support from our donors, ICP covers all aspects of a child’s care, including all physician consultations, X-rays, lab tests, CT and MRI scans, surgeries, hospital stays, travel, food, and lodging. This multilevel of complex care is not possible without the support of the LuskinOIC community.

Serving the Calexico and Mexicali Communities

At the Border Clinic in Calexico and the Hospital General de Mexicali, children receive initial screenings and evaluations from doctors and staff. We travel to the Border Clinic in Calexico eight clinic days a year and to the Hospital General de Mexicali three clinic days a year.

After we evaluate the children’s conditions and consult with physicians at the LuskinOIC campus in downtown Los Angeles, the children who are in need of surgical care are brought to the DTLA Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and UCLA Medical Center – Santa Monica. Here, physicians provide children the full extent of treatment needed toward the best possible outcomes.
