Everychild Foundation Playground
The Everychild Playground at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children stands as a testament to inclusive design and visionary philanthropy.
Created through a transformative grant awarded by the Everychild Foundation in March 2006, the playground broke ground that summer and officially opened on February 28, 2008, with a community celebration following on March 1. True to the Foundation’s mission of funding prototype projects that inspire replication, this specially-adapted play space has become both a beloved community resource and a blueprint for inclusive playgrounds nationwide.
Since its opening, it has hosted numerous community events, including field trips like Shane’s Kids in April 2008, annual Cerebral Palsy summer camp and regular playdates organized by support groups such as Las Madrecitas and Las Niñas. The playground embodies LuskinOIC’s commitment to helping children “grow well and play well,” ensuring that physical challenges never prevent a child from experiencing the fundamental right to play and demonstrating the powerful ripple effects that thoughtful philanthropy can create in communities and beyond.
If you want to donate to help maintain this beautiful playground that has brought some many smiles to countless children, please donate today.
Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center
The Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children opened in 2020 following a generous grant received in March 2018 as part of the 2020 Vision Campaign.
The Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children opened in 2020 following a generous grant received in March 2018 as part of the 2020 Vision Campaign. As one of the largest pediatric orthopaedic fracture centers in the nation, the facility features 14 specialized exam rooms, advanced diagnostic equipment in the Harbison Radiology department, and a child-focused rehabilitation center.
This comprehensive care center, which followed the July 2019 opening of LuskinOIC’s urgent care center, enables our pediatric orthopaedic specialists to provide expert care that helps children heal properly from broken bones and continue growing normally, regardless of a family’s financial circumstances.
Specialists at The Ahmanson Fracture Center apply over 35,000 casts and braces each year. Your donation helps ensure that no child goes without the urgent orthopedic care they need to heal quickly and get back to the classroom, playground, and playing field.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center
The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) at LuskinOIC allows us to provide kids with more immediate access to outpatient orthopaedic surgical care.
The Ahmanson Foundation grant will fund urgent facility improvements in the outpatient medical building that houses the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This latest grant, the largest to date from the Foundation in its 47-year relationship with LuskinOIC, will pay for a significant portion of the unexpected expenses that were required to improve operations during an unusually warm spring and summer.
Recognized by AAAHC and The Joint Commission: The Ambulatory Surgery Center has achieved renewed accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Additionally, the LuskinOIC Laboratory has been accredited by The Joint Commission in recognition of meeting and exceeding rigorous performance standards, distinguishing the ASC from many other outpatient facilities for providing the highest quality of care.
