Yuli has been part of the LuskinOIC family since 2013, when she was first diagnosed with a leg length discrepancy. At the time, doctors projected that without treatment, the difference between her legs could eventually reach 20 centimeters—something that would have had a serious impact on her ability to walk, stay active, and go about daily life. From the beginning, her care was overseen by Dr. Scaduto, who helped guide a long-term treatment plan designed around her growth and development. Over the years, Yuli’s journey has included regular monitoring, well-timed procedures, and support through every phase of her care.
In the early stages, she was given shoe lifts to help manage the difference while her bones continued to grow. Her doctors watched her progress closely, waiting for the right time to take the next steps. In 2017, once she was at the right stage for surgery, she had her first major procedure on her hip. That was followed by a leg-lengthening surgery in 2019 using an external fixator—an intense process that requires time, patience, and resilience. In 2021, she had another surgery called an epiphysiodesis on both her femur and tibia to help balance out the remaining difference in leg length.
Throughout everything, Yuli has shown a lot of strength and heart. Outside of her medical journey, she’s a passionate artist and a talented musician, playing several instruments and creating art that reflects her creativity and personality. Despite the challenges she’s faced, she continues to grow into a confident, expressive young person with a bright future ahead of her.

You may also have access to virtual urgent care for non-emergency issues, allowing your child to be seen by a provider from home. Check if pediatric virtual urgent care services are available in your area.
If your child is seriously injured or ill—especially if the condition may be life-threatening or needs immediate attention—take them to the emergency department (ED). Seek emergency care if your child:
