Access to the best orthopaedic care for children is critical but often comes too late. Rather than waiting longer in an emergency room to see a general physician, walk in and see a pediatric orthopaedic specialist in just a few minutes.

At LuskinOIC’s Urgent Care Center, orthopaedic doctors and staff provide essential urgent and trauma medical care to children with broken bones and musculoskeletal injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from Los Angeles parents about pediatric urgent orthopaedic care at LuskinOIC.

No appointment is needed. Walk-ins are welcome any time during our hours. To reduce your wait, you can save your spot online before arriving.

Our Urgent Care Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday. We are located at 403 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90007. You can reach us by phone at (213) 742-1161.

We treat a wide range of orthopaedic injuries in children from babies to teens, including bone fractures and broken bones, pain when putting weight on an extremity, muscle or tendon strains, torn muscles, pain or swelling in a joint, and sports injuries.

Please bring your child’s insurance card, your photo ID, and a list of your child’s current medications. If you are a legal guardian rather than a parent, bring court documents confirming guardianship. If your child is new to LuskinOIC, bring their medical records if available.

If your child was already seen in an emergency room for this injury, please also bring any X-rays taken there, discharge papers, and any X-rays from past healthcare providers.

LuskinOIC accepts most major insurance plans. We also work with uninsured and underinsured families thanks to our generous donors, because we believe every child deserves access to expert care regardless of financial situation. We never turn down a patient. Call us at (213) 742-1000 and our team will help you understand your options.

Go to the emergency department if your child has trouble breathing, a visibly deformed limb, a deep wound that will not stop bleeding, a head injury causing vomiting or loss of consciousness, a high fever with a stiff neck or rash, or signs of severe dehydration. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 immediately.

Yes. An after-visit summary will be provided to you directly or made accessible through your MyChart account. It will include any orders, instructions, and follow-up appointments from your visit.

  • What will treatment look like for my child?
  • Will my child need physical therapy?
  • Will the treatment process be painful for my child? If so, how can I help with pain management?
  • How might this injury impact my child in the future?
  • What does follow-up care involve?
  • Will this injury impact my child’s future growth or mobility in any way?
  • What if the provider I want my child to see does not have any openings for several months?
  • Will I still be seen if I do not have a referral?
  • If my child is a return patient and we need to have X-rays taken prior to the appointment, do we go straight to outpatient radiology?
