Amanda Honsvall, MD
Dr. Amanda Honsvall is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician within the UCLA Departments of Family Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine. Dr. Honsvall joined OIC and UCLA after first working as a Sports Medicine physician within the University of Minnesota Department of Orthopedics, where she cared for patients of all ages with orthopedic injuries, served as medical director for the USA Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament and assisted in the care of the UMN Gophers Women’s Basketball team.
Dr. Honsvall received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota Methodist Hospital. As a resident, she was honored as an AMSSM Resident Scholar for her dedication and contribution to Sports Medicine. She received her Sports Medicine fellowship specialty training at UCLA, where she served as team physician for Santa Monica High School and assistant team physician for the UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. She specializes in diagnosis and treatment of non-surgical orthopedic issues and injuries among athletes and active people of all ages. Her clinical and research interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures, orthobiologics, injury prevention and treatment, youth sports and youth physical activity promotion.
She is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians.
